Popular Post Mjamfan22
Chassis Pack and Rescale Announcement:As we continue to grow with almost 40,000 website members and 1,000,000+ total mod downloads if you account the 900,000 from its time on the BeamNG forums, it is time we transition to a more accurate, scaled, detailed, and overall better handling mod. We will be using this topic to discuss the chassis pack. Beam-Monsters Past, Present and Future: Many of you may remember the CRD and CRD_Addon Pack that were on the main BeamNG forums. This was a project started by SealedGecko and then passed over to Flying2YourSoul. After F2YS stepped down from development a new structure of Beam-Monsters was implemented. In which it would become a team effort going forward, and not limited to one person undertaking the majority of the developmental portions of the process. The mod came a long way from its start from terrible handling and no breakability with only a few bodies in-game. And now we skip to today where it is owned and managed by a team, with over 40 additional bodystyles and hundreds of presets and options. This has helped the mod grow an enormous amount and extended to another chassis (CRC). Most of the parts we use today are from the content creators over at www.Sim-Monsters.com. As to, they have the same passion about creating digital monster trucks as we do. As we continue to add new parts, models, and bodies to our mod it has come apparent that our mod is just simply not scaled correctly and the handling is not as good as we can do. Kozak, who is the maker of most of the chassis you see in Rigs of Rods and BeamNG came to Flying2YourSoul a few years ago and was brushed off as too tedious to undertake. Kozak later approached our new development team almost a year ago with some brand new CRD models with 100% correct scale from CAD Drawings. This immediately made us start planning on how we can use these. This made us start picking apart the original code of CRD and figuring out that our parts weights are extremely off, even though our trucks are accurate weights. This meaning that the weights are in the wrong places. This error comes from the original models and jbeams created before us. The chassis are around 10-11% over scaled which throws off most of all the parts by the same percentage. This being said, for almost a year now we have been planning, modeling, and researching different things to make our mod the best experience for monster truck gaming. Efforts we have taken to fix this: We have tried a few updates to counteract the weight issue by tuning suspension, tires, etc. but it is just not good enough. There is just way to much weight in the rear end and the wrong center of gravity. We are basically going to start from scratch with a brand new from the ground up chassis jbeam with more accurate weights and detail. This will come with new chassis models that are the correct measurements. We will also be changing how the mod shows up in-game with a new selectable interface with more customization and tunability. Introducing Beam-Monsters Chassis Pack: This will be the next "version" of the current chassis as well as adding more. The release version of this chassis pack is planned to have CRC, CRD, Meents, and Willman. This will be a complete redo of the current mods with all new jbeams, models, textures, and handling. This will be the most realistic monster truck experience in any game available. With 100% correct scaling, 4K textures, full breakability, and more to come. So far months have gone into planning, researching, and developing these changes. Our dev team has been hard at work making high quality models to replace the old ones. This will be the best handling and looking monster truck from any game, way more superior to steel titans. How we are planning the release of the Beam-Monsters Chassis pack: Releases will be based off the style we do now. There will be a main chassis pack to be released with CRC, CRD, Meents, and Willman with multiple options on all of them. In this chassis pack will be a fully propped, textured, and drivable chassis' with no bodies. This will be the backbone of the other packs. We have decided to release separate packs for each chassis that includes all the bodies. So the chassis pack will be the base, and the body packs will be labeled what chassis they go on. So there will be a BMChassisPack.zip with CRD.zip, CRC.zip, etc. This way it will replace the current mods and hopefully wont cause anything to break. This will also greatly reduce file size and make the game load the mod smoother as everything will now be sharing assets. So alongside the 4 chassis, CRC.zip will most likely have the bodies it has now, CRD.zip will have most if not all the bodies it has now, and Willman.zip + Meents.zip will get whatever bodies we have done in time for release. With all of these continuing to get updates. This paves the way for more chassis' to get done in a quicker time frame. This includes plans for Cohen, Eddie, Inhouse, Racesource, and many more in the future! What does this mean for the current mods? The current CRD and CRC mods will be over written by the body packs, and any third party pack and skin pack will have to be deleted and redone by the creator from scratch. Existing tracks compatibility with the new re-scaled Monster trucks: Most of our tracks should be good to run on with the rescaled trucks if the creator used the crush cars as a measurement. The FPSCrushCar pack is 100% to real scale so those will not need to be updated or replaced. However some of the venue models we use from Sim-Monsters are a little over scaled, this can be fixed in the future. Our paid for stadium models and Supercross models should be to scale. This was stated on Sim-Monsters.com about the status on their venue models that they let us use in BeamNG. "Track making on Sim-Monsters has progressed tremendously from the heyday of concrete and SketchUp tracks. One of these changes has been using actual measurements when creating venue models rather than relying on the number of truck lengths that might fit to determine the dimensions of a venue. As venues and tracks have been made in the past to fit the scale of the trucks being driven on them, you may notice that some older tracks will feel larger with SMV5. This is one of the unintentional side effects of making these trucks to an accurate size. Going forward, venues should be made with a focus on measurements over eye-balling estimates based on truck size whenever possible. However, we will still be sure to provide a reference truck model that can be used to build tracks with." - Danny Mackey @Sim-Monsters Expected time frame of completion: The simple answer to this is none of us ever think this will be completely finished as the sheer amount of chassis' that there are in existence is huge, therefore there will always be something to add and improve on. As well as keeping up with the ever growing times of new technology. There is no current release date, we are still months away from a testable beta. TLDR (Too Long Didn't Read): - Beam-Monsters is creating a chassis pack, with separate body packs - Trucks will be 100% to scale, new jbeams, accurate handling, new textures, and new high quality models - The body packs will overwrite the current zips - The chassis pack will forever be updated just like how it currently is - Props, textures, and possibly handling may change across updates - Third party body and skin packs will be removed from the website and will need to be deleted from your mods folder once the chassis pack is released- There is no current release date, we are still months away. Here is a rough explanation video I made a few months back as a soft announcement for this idea. More updates will come between Discord, Youtube, and Instagram.

nate deer
The one thing I would want to see with this is the body would say the truck name. Like for example grave digger body would say gravedigger not 1960 pannel van. it would just say gravedigger or digger purple of chrome or that kind of thing . Other than that love the idea. Reason it says 1950 panel van or whatever its called is because that's what the body style is. Pretty much all grave diggers run that same body style so under that body slot would be the grave digger skin, and you can choose whatever grave digger you want to run from the skin slot.
